Paperwhites

Thank you for purchasing your Paperwhite bulb(s) from our farm! With the care instructions listed below, we hope you will find it easy to care for your bulb(s) and find delight in watching them grow.

Bare Bulb Care Instructions

Bare bulbs can be potted in soil/gravel or placed on top of the soil/gravel.

Fully planted bulbs should have at least two inches of soil/gravel below the bulb and the soil/gravel should not cover the tip of the bulb where the green stem exits the bulb.

Bulbs placed on top of the soil/gravel should have the roots buried into at least two inches of soil/gravel. The bulb can rest, uncovered, on top of the soil/gravel.

Bulbs should never be exposed to excessive water. If bulbs are fully buried in soil, keep the soil moist, but not soggy. If the bulb is placed on top of soil/gravel with the roots buried, the water line should sit below the bulb, so the bulb is not sitting in water. Too much water will cause the bulb to rot and growth will stop.

Do not place the bulb in direct sunlight.

Do not place the bulb near sources of hot/cold, such as heating/cooling vents.

Once the bulb has finished blooming, it will likely not bloom again in the future.

Bulbs can be composted.
